Called the “Island of the Hills,” Manhattan has the largest population of people in the five boroughs of New York City. Though it may not be visible during the day, Manhattan has some of the best nightclubs, such as Cielo in the Meatpacking District, that have won awards for their service, etc. With guest DJs such as Oscar G and the French wonder, Fred Falke (who recently completed a sell-out tour in Australia), Cielo has the right combination of music, dancing, and bottle service.

However, the best Manhattan nightclubs may be hard to get into without reservations. However, you don’t have to go to only Manhattan nightclubs and bars to have a good time in this borough. Here is a look at some of the best places to go, long after the sun has set.

Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema – Why not catch a midnight showing at this cinema that once used to be a Yiddish theater? Reported to have a great midnight series, the theater’s sound quality is excellent. Stop into Lucky’s Burgers, a few blocks away, for the classic burger with cheese before the movie. It is a restaurant where everything is made using 100 percent natural ingredients.

Bowery Ballroom – This is one of the best places to see up and coming bands and also great indie bands. It’s a great place to meet celebrities such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. If you are feeling charity, Bowery Ballroom, in conjunction with Rough Trade NYC,sometimes sponsors events as Education Through Music. Some events, such as Education Through Music, include an open bar and snacks, such lobster rolls, tacos, and organic salads. At events such as the Education Through Music, proceeds go 100 percent to the children in New York City. For a $65 advanced or $80 ticket at the door, New York City’s children can get an education in music. Be aware though that you may have to pay a cover fee in addition to paying for drinks.

Jazz Standard – This is one of the best places to find world-class jazz, funk, and even bluegrass music here nightly. When paired with country cooking of smoked pulled pork and banana cream pie, this is an outstanding combination. Still, the pressed beef and pimento cheese sandwich is a good choice and fried chicken and biscuits are a classic. Patrons can hear fine music as they dine on Southern classics. There are also specialty cocktails, wine, and beer to also enjoy. This club also has tempting dessert beer flavors, such as a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. When paired with the chocolate cake and cold milk, it is a great finish to a Southern classic dinner.

Bubby’s – According to Rapper Stalley, this restaurant is one of the best that is open until the sun comes up. Originally a pie company in 1990, the business had two tables. Recipes are made from scratch. Midnight brunch is served from 11p.m. to 7 a.m., breakfast is from 7a.m. to 11a.m., and dinner is 4 -p.m. to 11 p.m. Weekend brunches are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It caters to those who are the late night owls.
